The fundamental objective of the Land Restitution Management Unit is to serve as an administrative body of the National Government to return lands to the people who were dispossessed.

Yule, who was appointed to the position in July last year by Colombian President Gustavo Petro, asked the authorities to “Investigate and find those responsible for this attack”.

For its part, the Restitution Unit rejected the attack and called the authorities “so that those responsible are identified and held accountable for these events”.

The publication on social networks was accompanied by photos in which it is seen that the flames consumed the walls of the entrance of the house, windows and part of the roof, as well as destruction in the patio.

On the other hand, the Ombudsman, Iris Marín, joined the voices that rejected the attack.

In his X account he assured: “We demand that violence cease in Cauca and throughout the country, for all people. The work of restitution of lands and territories that you represent as director of the @URestitucion, your leadership as an indigenous person, must be protected”.

Meanwhile, the director of the National Planning Department (DNP), Alexander López, expressed his solidarity with Yule and his family “in the face of the cowardly and criminal attack against his family and home.”

Likewise, He asked the competent authorities to provide support to the “victims of this attack, identify the criminals and bring those responsible for these events to justice.”

In the department of Cauca, dissidents from the FARC, the National Liberation Army (ELN) and drug trafficking groups, among others, are present, trying to control illegal economies, mainly coca crops and illegal mining.
