Astesiano was arrested on Sunday, September 25 by the Police, with an arrest warrant and incommunicado detention from the Prosecutor’s Office.
In principle, it transpired that the head of the Presidential custody was arrested for alleged forgery of Russian passports.
He would also be being investigated for theft, fraud, misappropriation and damage. However, Astesiano had no criminal or judicial record, as reported at the time by La Diaria.
Most of the investigations would have been carried out in Montevideo, although they also have in Maldonado, Colonia and Canelones.
Astesiano guarded both President Lacalle Pou and his entire family.
Lacalle Pou met Astesiano in 1999 and was linked to the custody of different presidential candidates of the National Party and the Lacalle family.
