Of the 24,230 murders of women committed from 2015 to 2021, only 5,718 were considered and investigated as possible femicides. That is, only 23.6%.
In other words: in the last seven years, only 1 in 4 murders of women has been investigated as a possible femicide (and sometimes not even that).

Well, yes… but in no state of the country have 100% of the murders of women been investigated as femicides.
For example, Sinaloa It is the state where a greater proportion of murders of women is typified as femicide (73% of the cases in the referred period), followed by Nuevo Leon and Veracruz with averages of 55 and 53% of murders typified as femicide.
There are six entities where the percentage of murders of women classified as femicide does not even reach 10%:
Guanajuato with 5.8%.
Tamaulipas, 6.8%.
Baja California Sur, 7.3%.
Lower California, 8.5%.
Chihuahua, 8.9%.
And Guerrero with 9.0%.

In the Mexico statethe entity with the highest number of women murdered between 2015 and 2021, only 23.7% of the cases were investigated as femicide.
And in the City that has it all, the CDMX, the percentage is almost double: 42.8%. In other words, 6 out of 10 murders of women in the capital of the Republic are NOT investigated as femicides.
Perhaps because of that, or because of the presidential race, the head of the City Government is speeding up the issue… finally…
And it is that during the last week, the case of Ariadna Fernanda López has been in the informative debate due to the conflicting position of two prosecutors… That of Morelos, directed by Uriel Carmona, and the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office, directed by Ernestina Godoy…
I hope that beyond the omissions, the flaws and the political grid around the case, the truth is achieved, the damage is repaired and justice is done for Ariadna, her family and loved ones.
Because of erratic cases we are already fed up with the mother.
