President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, delivered this Saturday the rehabilitation and improvement project of the Gri-Gri lagoon and its surroundings, with the aim of strengthening tourism in Río San Juan and highlighting this natural monument of great ecotourism value.
- The remodeling, which had a cost of close to 77 million pesos, responded to an old community claimsince it directly impacts more than 70 families that depend on activities such as tourism guided boats, food sales and restaurants in the area.
Before the event, dozens of neighbors came to the place to welcome the president. Among them, several tourists took the opportunity to take photos in the lagoon, a sample of what will be a tourist attraction quality for the region.
Minister Collado expressed that the new Gri-Gri lagoon represents a significant change for the entire province, reaffirming its commitment to the development of Río San Juan.
“We are here fulfilling our promise to deliver this important work that was an old demand of the community, that more than the change in the image of the Gri Gri lagoonis the progress in the lives of so many families. That’s why I’m happy,” said Minister Collado.
“Tourism is this, changing people’s lives,” said the official, after ensuring that he will spare no effort to convert San Juan River in a true ecotourism treasure.
