“This omission took its toll on me and a couple of weeks ago the doctors told me that the surgery cannot be postponed,” he added in the recording.
The PAN president indicated that she will have to take a break from her position to recover from the surgery.
This pause occurs two days after the violent events that took place in Ciudad Juárez, which left 11 people murdered, two of them inside the State Social Reintegration Center Number 3 and nine more in the streets of the entity.
“I have tried to push the date as far as possible, especially to address the complex circumstances that our state is experiencing, but the doctors insist on the importance of performing the intervention immediately to achieve a speedy recovery and be 100% in my health. I work as governor,” said Maru Campos.
The official said she trusts the secretaries of her cabinet to attend to any contingency during her recovery, without giving an estimate of how many days she will be absent.
“I am calm, I am confident that this intervention will be simple and that very soon I will be very recovered and more complete than ever to continue working for my people,” she said.
