In Argentina, 90,994,135 vaccines against the coronavirus have been applied and, despite the fact that the process is progressing positively, the Government will seek to reinforce the vaccination in all those over 60 years of age.
As this age group is considered a risk population, it has priority in inoculation and, despite this, according to official data, those over 60 are the ones who have made the least progress with the vaccination.
According to figures from the Ministry of Health, at least 9.1% of this population have not yet started their vaccination, a figure that is very similar among the group of people between 30 and 39 years old, where 9.7% have not yet been vaccinated.
Therefore, the Government will focus on reinforcing the vaccination of this group, since 80% of patients requiring hospitalization are currently not immunized.
The paradox of the issue is that, despite the fact that those over 60 are the ones with the most people to immunize, 675,761, this age group is the one that has received the booster dose the most, 69.8% of the population.
However, this group would be located in the last positions of the vaccination at the national level, so it is urgent that all citizens considered at risk or not, go to receive the vaccine.
Vaccination for people over 60 years of age includes the fourth dose
The Government also plans to apply the fourth dose from March 1, especially in the population at risk.
This includes all citizens over the age of 60 and all people over the age of 3 with autoimmune diseases, as they require a biological booster.
To receive the second reinforcement, it will be a requirement that a minimum of 4 months have passed since the application of the third dose, according to the Ministry of Health.
