The President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torressaid that the Government will study the law that approved the Congress that interprets an article in the electoral norm that seeks to extend the term to present the list of affiliates for the 2022 elections.
“We have to study this situation well in the Executive. I am not sure yet if it is going to be observed, but we are going to study well how to solve this problem because we want that and Congress should not take it the wrong way “he pointed out in an interview with TV Peru.

The Prime Minister warned that electoral rules cannot be changed in a process that is already underway.
“We are willing to collaborate with Congress, but if they pass a law that violates the Constitution, violates the legal system, we have to observe the law because if we do not observe it, we would incur a fault, as in this case,” Torres assured.
What does Bill 1271 say?
This text interprets numeral four of the ninth transitory provision of the Law of Political Organizations to allow several presentations of membership registers made before January 5, 2022.
This contradicts the National Elections Jury (JNE), by indicating that the presentation of all the lists of affiliates should be in a single moment.
It also goes against the opinion of this electoral entity, which stated that the regulations could not be changed and a decision already made by the full JNE could not be made null and void.
