The spokeswoman for the Presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, affirmed that there is “a great demand for energy due to the economic reactivation” and announced that the Executive will take “measures to reduce electricity consumption” in relation to the heat wave, during a conference of press offered at the Casa Rosada.

Cerruti considered that the increased rates “are decoupled” from investments what public service companies should do based on “the commitments they made”, and he advanced that The Executive works with the industrial chambers to reduce consumption before the heat wave.

On the other hand, Cerruti affirmed that “it was difficult to foresee” the presence of an Iranian official accused of participating in the attack on the AMIA in the inauguration of Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua.

Regarding the Supreme Court, the spokesperson considered that “it has a delay when it comes to doing justice” and, in that sense, cited the case of the social leader Miracle Room, who has been detained in Jujuy for six years.

Regarding the dissemination of the footage found in facilities of the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI), in which a meeting between several former Buenos Aires officials, AFI agents and businessmen, who orchestrated judicial operations against union organizations, is seen, Cerruti considered the former Buenos Aires governor María Eugenia Vidal carried out “an agenda destined to set up legal cases and prosecute”.

Cpnsultada on the role played by Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the relationship with the IMF, Cerruti remarked that it is President Alberto Fernández and the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, who are leading the negotiations.

“The vice president has the institutional role of leading the Senate. The negotiation with the IMF is carried out by resident Alberto Fernández and Minister Guzmán. If Cristina Fernández de Kirchner had a more leading role, they would also criticize her,” Cerruti said.
