The whole country is waiting to know what the final agreement will be government hold with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to refinance 44 billion dollars of debt.

The announcement was made by presidential spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti at a press conference, who stated that the government set an increase based on “a segmentation scheme into three levels of users.”

In this sense, for the beneficiaries of the social rate, the increase “will be equivalent to 40% of the salary variation coefficient of the previous year,” as Cerruti explained.
For its part, for other users, the increase will be 80% of the salary variation coefficient of the previous yearaccording to the spokeswoman, who also stated that during 2022 and 2023 “no other increases may be contemplated.”

The same presidential spokesperson confirmed that the body and the executive they are still in negotiations, since it is required to “discuss word by word” each point of the agreement.
This, since “each of the decisions has an impact on the lives of Argentines” and, as Cerruti pointed out, the government seeks that the refinancing of the debt is the best way out for the country.
Thus, after overcoming the obstacle of tariffs, “agreements have already been reached on all substantial points”, so the final proposal would be brought to Congress in the next few hours.
