The government of San Luis decreed a state of water emergency for 90 days due to the drought that has affected the province for several months and affected the water levels in the different reservoirs.

Through decree 11611-MP-2022, the Water Emergency was established throughout the provincial territory for 90 days or until the levels of the water reservoirs are normalized, and the provision of water will be prioritized efficiently, both in quantity and in quality for population use.

The general manager of San Luis Agua, Nazareno Perroni, the agency in charge of control and use of water in the province, stressed that different actions have been carried out for several months with mayors and different ministries to have an appropriate use of the resource.

“We held meetings with mayors and officials from different portfolios to have organized work and actions to carry out, since everyone is linked to this resource in one way or another and making good use of them is essential in times of drought”Perroni said.

In addition, he explained that this decree authorizes San Luis Agua to dictate those “necessary actions and/or measures” to guarantee the essential supply of water.
