The Minister of Education, Jaime Perczykannounced this Wednesday that The national government invested more than 9,000 million pesos in 36,000 Manuel Belgrano scholarships destined to “promote the admission, continuity and completion of undergraduate and graduate studies in strategic areas for the country’s economic development,” it was officially reported.

The minister headed the First National Meeting of the Manuel Belgrano Strategic Scholarshipswhich was held at the National University of San Martín (Unsam), in which more than 1,000 scholars and rectors of universities from all over the country participated.

During the meeting, the awards corresponding to the 2022 call were announced -both for the new applicants and those who obtained the renewal of the scholarship- which reaches 36,000 students, which represents an increase of 50% in the assigned quota, according to It was detailed from the Ministry.

Meanwhile, the fellows of the Program participated in exchange stands and discussion tables related to the main topics of their professional fields.

The activities were chaired by specialists in technological linkages such as the executive director of the YPF Foundation, Ofelia Cédola; the director of the Invap Foundation, Verónica Garea; the Argentina 2030 coordinator, Daniel Schteingart, and the president of Unión Industrial San Martín, Norberto Fedele.

The Manuel Belgrano Strategic Scholarship Program promotes access, permanence and completion of scientific and technical careers in nine strategic areas: Food, Environment, Computing and Information Technology, Conventional and Alternative Energy, Gas, Logistics and Transportation, Mining, Oil and Basic Sciences.

“In this way, the training of professionals in these key sectors is reinforced, allowing the link between public universities, the technological-productive system and the labor market,” concluded the educational portfolio.
