The Government granted a 33.5% salary increase to national teachers until July

The Government agreed to an increase for national teachers of 33.5% until the month of July, to pay 17.5% in March, 8% in May and 8% in July, during a meeting of the national joint committee with the five unions of the sector, which was attended by President Alberto Fernández.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Jaime Perczyk, at a press conference that he offered tonight at Palacio Sarmiento, located at Pizzurno 935 in the city of Buenos Aires, at the end of the meeting in which they also participated the Ministers of Labor, Raquel “Kelly” Olmos, and of Economy, Sergio Massa.

In what constituted the second parity meeting of national teachers, it was also resolved that there will be a salary review in May.

The agreement, said the Minister of Education, “has a very important increase in national contributions, Fonid and Connectivity.”

“A minimum salary of 130,000 is also set, for which the National Teacher Salary Compensation program is increased,” he specified and said that it is “a compensatory sum for teachers in the provinces that do not reach that sum.”

The meeting between authorities from the Ministry of Education and the five unions that bring together national teachers began at 6:30 p.m.

Representatives of the Confederation of Education Workers of the Argentine Republic (Ctera), the Argentine Union of Private Teachers (Sadop), the Union of Argentine Teachers (UDA), the Association of Technical Education Teachers (Amet) participated in the meeting. and the Confederation of Argentine Educators (CEA).
