The national government reached this Tuesday un price agreement with companies that manufacture widespread inputs such as aluminum, cardboard, glass and chemical products that will make it possible to trace a path of predictability for the next four months.
At the closing of the meeting that took place this afternoon at the Palacio de Hacienda, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, stressed that “This agreement gives the possibility that all the companies that participate in the productive processes in Argentina have predictability” in their basic industrial inputs.
Massa explained that the understanding with the companies that was reached within the scope of the Ministry of Commerce foresees price increases of 3.9% for the next four months.
“This will allow the network of 41,000 SMEs that are part of the value chain to have the possibility of planning polyethylene, aluminum, and cardboard as a production process for goods and supplies in the chains” of value, Massa said.
The meeting, in which the Secretary of Commerce, Matías Tombolini, also participated, brought together executives from Aluar, Dow Chemical, Alpek Polyester Argentina, Cattorini Hnos, Veralia, Rigoleau, Nueva Cristalería Rosario, IFF, Danisco and Solae, Grupo Saporiti, Transclor, Tetrapack and Cartocor, reported the economic portfolio.
“Beyond the challenge of lowering inflation, the ability to order fiscal goals, monetary policy and a serious and solid reserve accumulation regime, as economic planning instruments, it is necessary to establish a price path that we already established in fuels”, reported the minister.
This ordering of values of basic industrial inputs such as aluminum, cardboard, glass and chemical and petrochemical products “accompanies the Fair Prices program” carried out by the Government for products of mass consumption by the population.
So that #FairPrices be increasingly stronger we reached an important agreement with companies that produce aluminum, plastic, cardboard, chemicals, petrochemicals and packaging, which are the products used by more than 41,000 SMEs in the manufacture of consumer goods. pic.twitter.com/4eUO6jhJZf

Massa acknowledged to the businessmen that it was “a tough and different negotiation due to the particularity of each one of the companies” but stressed that “the State makes an effort by giving them predictability of access to the Single Free Exchange Market.”
In this sense, the minister highlighted “the main beneficiary of these agreements is the ordinary citizen” because beyond the “negotiation that was difficult, in perspective it will be important for the majority of Argentines who will see it in relief in the pocket.”
