The national government is analyzing a battery of measures to contain inflationespecially the increases in food prices, after the strong jump that hit the values of commodities in recent weeks due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Official sources indicated that the measures will be announced in the last days of this week.
One of the main issues that the Government will seek to contain is the increase in the price of food, especially that of agricultural commodities.
Wheat, for example, is one of those that exhibited the greatest volatility with a direct impact on the main consumer products, since its international price rose from US$322 a ton one day before the invasion to more than US$ 400 today, although it was able to trade above US$ 500 per ton.
Faced with this situation, the Government sought to cushion its effect with the creation of a trust of 800,000 tons of wheat for the production of 000 flour and dry noodles within the +Care Prices plan.
In addition to this, it plans to put other tools into operation, starting with obtaining resources via the elimination of the differential in export duties that benefits soybean by-products, such as oil and flour, without the need to increase grain retention.
After the suspension of the Registry of Sworn Declarations of Sale Abroad (DJVE) finalized last Sunday, the president Alberto Fernández met this Monday with the Minister of Agriculture, Julián Domínguez.
On Sunday he did the same with the head of the Palacio de Hacienda, Martín Guzmán; with the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas; and with the Secretary of Commerce, Roberto Feletti.
There they analyzed a series of measures that could be announced in the coming days, among which are the modification of the decree with the subsidy for the export of soybean oil and flourwhich in this way would go from 31% to 33%, to expand the wheat trust by around US$450 million.
