The General Assembly elected the new members of the Board of Directors of the National Institution of Human Rights and Ombudsman
After intense negotiations and dialogue between the different parties and actors of the national political system, an agreement was finally reached at the General Assembly held today. The new members of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Human Rights and the Ombudsman’s Office were elected by absolute majority.
The National Representative Dr.Mario Colman appointed by the body to chair the Advisory Commission of the General Assembly, expressed his agreement for the actions of the work carried out, with the transparency and objectivity that is required.
Each of the aspirations to fill these positions was analyzed in light of the current regulations, and the final list of the 24 candidates was submitted for consideration by the General Assembly.
Deputy MARIO COLMAN spoke on the subject: “Exercising this function meant a great honor assumed with the responsibility that the subject deserves. Once the process is over, we are pleased to have culminated with the
support of the entire political system, a clear sign of confidence in the work carried out by the Commission.
The Directors voted by the General Assembly are: Mrs. María Jimena Fernández Bonelli, Bernardo Legnani Píriz, Wilder Tyler Souto, Carmen Rodríguez Núñez and Marcos Israel Cúneo, to whom we wish the greatest success for the period that they will carry out the representativeness of such an important institute for our country, as it is, the National Institute of Human Rights and Neighborhood Ombudsman»
