The workers’ organizations propose that the concentration be held on February 24, 2022. They reject possible reforms to social security.
The United Workers Front (soccer) summoned a seedling outside the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), in north-central Quitofor this Thursday February 24th at 10:00.
The objective is to reject the possible reforms of the Social Security Law, in which, among other things, it is planned to increase the retirement age. This was indicated by its leaders at a press conference where the president of the FUT, Ángel Sánchez, announced that they have decided to resume fighting actions. And for this reason, this Thursday they will carry out the seedling to “defend social security to the death” and -he added- that they will not allow “an increase in the number of years or the percentage (…) let alone that social security be privatized”.
The call has been joined by members of the National Union of Educators (UNE). In addition, the trade unionists indicated that in March they will continue with the mobilizations. (AVV)
