The National Electoral Council published The full lists of mayors and councilors “elected” In the municipal elections of July 27.
According to these results, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) obtained between 285 and 304 mayors of a total of 335 in dispute, which represents around 85% of the total. Chavismo retained control of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, Capital of the country, where Mayor Carmen Meléndez was reelected.
The opposition retained in the metropolitan area of Caracas the mayors of Chacao and Baruta, with the re -election of Gustavo Duque and Darwin González, respectively. Fernando Malena won in El Hatillo, of the ecological movement, while Chavismo won in the Sucre municipality, where Diogenes Lara was chosen.
In Maracaibo, another of the most important municipalities in Venezuela and traditionally led by the opposition, Gian Carlo Di Martino, of the PSUV, won.
