The matches of the opposition in Bolivia must form a political agreement for the 2025 elections or else they will not be able to participate, warned the president of the Revolutionary Left Front (FRI), Edgar Guzman.

He Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) established October 21 of this year as the deadline for the registration of political alliances, since they have to be six months in advance if the elections are to be held on August 17 of next year.

“Logically, the parties that are qualified for the elections if they do not comply with this will not be able to participate and that can cause a deep crisis in the party system“, Guzmán told EL DEBER.

In his opinion, it is hoped that in the coming weeks a political alliance can be formed with a national proposal and the commitment of democratic opposition leaders to seek change in the country that is experiencing an economic crisis.

On the presidential candidacy of Mayor Manfred Reyes Villa, Guzmán said he does not have a political party to support his candidacy in next year’s general elections.

“He does not have a political instrument that allows him to participate in the elections. He says that he will remove the personality of his political group, hopefully he will succeed and be on the side of the Bolivian people who want democracy and respect for the rule of law in Bolivia,” commented the national leader of the FRI founded by the late politician. Oscar “Motet” Zamora.

Other sources close to the Mayor Reyes Villawhich leads the polls of opposition candidates to the MAS, revealed that the new political group will be called Súmate and began the process before the electoral body.

A response is awaited from Supreme Electoral Tribunal And this weekend Reyes Villa and his coreligionists will meet in Cochabamba to evaluate the progress in this regard.
