This Thursday, the Impeachment Committee of the Chamber of Deputies will meet again to move forward with the impeachment request against the Supreme Court and their representatives: Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
In this way, today’s conference will be key to progress with the investigation to the highest court, since the Frente de Todos will seek to approve the admissibility of the political trial against the Supreme Court.
During the last session held by the Commission, its president, Carolina Gaillard, maintained that “there are reasons to initiate” the impeachment trial against the Supreme Courtafter the presentation of the authors of 14 projects of accusation against the members of the court.
In this sense, This Thursday, the Commission “will analyze the admissibility report to determine if it is appropriate to start the trial period of the investigation”as Gaillard herself explained.
The Frente de Todos is confident that admissibility will be obtained, since it has a majority in the Commission with 16 of 31 members. From Together for Change, for its part, it is expected that they will reject the request, as they have stated so far.
If the admissibility is approved, the process will continue with the stage of collecting evidence and testimony to decide whether to issue an opinion, with which the investigation would be taken to court to determine the future of the judges.
It should be remembered that the impeachment request against the highest court It occurred after the recent ruling in favor of the City of Buenos Aires for the co-participation funds, and for its intervention in the integration of the Council of the Magistracy.
