The ruling party, made up of the front of all (FdT), continues the preparations to carry out the political trial against the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, made up of the four magistrates, Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti. The litigation in question is mainly due to the ruling of this judicial body against the legal dispute between the Nation and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) for co-participation.
The initiative led by the President of the Nation himself, Alberto Fernandez, faces the admissibility of the prosecution and the opening of the summary where the evidence of the accusations against the judges will be accumulated previously mentioned, emphasizing the president of the Supreme Court, Rosatti. The FdT met last Thursday achieving a quorum to start the debate in the Chamber of Deputies.
Despite the fact that the opposition, made up of Together for Change (JxC), tried to boycott the start of the sessions and continues to launch accusations against the FdT, the latter is already in the phase where they join the complaints against the magistrates of the Court. spokespersons for ruling party They discount that they will have the majority in all the meetings relevant to the trial, through the provision of their 16 deputies. In turn, they estimate that next Thursday the 14 projects that aim to remove the four judges will be able to be presented.
The main motivation for this political trial launched by the national head of state is that the Supreme Court benefited CABA in the legal dispute that it has with the Nation for the co-participation. This economic tool was increased for the benefit of CABA by former president Mauricio Macri, reaching 3.5% of co-participating funds, then, in 2020, Alberto Fernández reduced that figure to just over half and the Supreme Court increased it again to 2.95%
Militants will march against the Supreme Court
Social organizations, trade unions and political leaders will mobilize against the Supreme Court under the slogan: “out with the judicial mafia”. The demonstration will be up to Plaza Lavalle, in front of the Courts of Justice, on February 1st.
Juan María Ramos Padilla, judge of the Oral Criminal Court 29, argued that the Supreme Court “has allowed the flight of currency, they messed with the co-participation of the people, of the country’s towns, leaving the poorest provinces with fewer resources , among other great atrocities”.
