The functions of Planetarium of the National University of La Plata (UNLP)one of the most modern in Latin America, can be enjoyed in a free and free every Saturday, Sunday and holidayswith digital projections in the 17 meter diameter dome with 4K resolution.
With capacity for 175 spectators, the circular format of the room -located in Iraola Avenue and 118th Street, from Paseo del Bosque from the Buenos Aires capital, generates an incredible immersive sensation, which makes it a true theater of science, art and technology.
The function of “The universe of your imagination” (recommended for children under 6 years) is at 2:45 p.m. and it is an immersive show that has songs written and performed by Hugo Figueras, where he invites us to imagine infinite worlds based on the forms that the universe offers us, forming a poetic-musical plot structured in four moments.
While, “The Unseen Universe” (recommended for ages 8 and up) can be seen at 3:45 p.m. and deals with the observation of light, telescopes, space rockets, X-ray and gamma-ray radiation, as well as neutrinos, cosmic rays, and gravitational waves from black holes.
From 4:45 p.m. you can enjoy “Belisario, the little great hero of the cosmos” (recommended for ages 5 and up), a film centered on the adventures of a little astronaut mouse who travels back in time to inscribe his name in the history of Argentine astronautics.
Also, from 18, it is the turn of “The sun, our stellar neighbor” (suitable for all audiences) that shows how the radiation from that star shapes the terrestrial environment, conditions the climate and is responsible for life on the planet.
Finally, at 7 p.m. it is projected “From Earth to the Universe” (suggested for ages 5 and up), a show in which a journey is made from the planet to the wonders hidden in the starry sky.
