It caught fire in the early hours of this Sunday the former Headquarters of Montevideo and current Central Prison. Firefighters They had to evacuate the building and cut off circulation in the area for prevention. There were no injuries.

The fire affected some 50 square meters on the ground floor and a storage room on the fourth floor of the former Montevideo Headquarters. The causes are investigated.
