For the third consecutive day, the forest fire that began in the large mountains of the town of Panaholma and moved to the Cuesta de Cura Brochero, in the Cordovan department of San Alberto, remains active, provincial sources reported.
Since this Saturday morning, the fire has been moving through the Traslasierra Valley mountain range and more than 300 members of the Civil Protection System are working in the fight, including members of fire departments, the Technical Team of Action before Catastrophes, and police.
Two hydrant planes from the province and one from the Nation are working on the air attack on the fire, according to the provincial Climate Risk Management, Catastrophe and Civil Protection Secretariat, Claudio Vignetta, in detail to the local media.
“We are working hard to control the head of the fire and be able to contain it”said the official.
Likewise, Vignetta said that the fire that had been registered on Friday in Tulumba, in the north of the province, is “contained and in ashes guard.”
Meanwhile, the brigade members maintain control over the other “hot and unstable” areas to try to prevent the fire from restarting, due to the strong gusts of wind that are forecast for this weekend in Córdoba, therefore it remains ” the risk of fire is extreme,” the official warned.
