The Foreign Ministry reports a 28% increase in Mexican consulate services

The demand for consular services registered an increase in the first half of 2022, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The number of procedures attended by the 148 Mexican consular representations in 80 countries increased 28 percent compared to the same period in 2021 and 9 percent compared to 2019.

In the first six months of the year, one million 721 thousand 803 procedures were attended to in the Mexican consular network: 804 thousand 999 passports, 447 thousand 933 consular registrations, 130 thousand 842 applications for voting credentials, 95 thousand 683 visas and 242 thousand 346 legalizations , public faith procedures, civil registration and others.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry highlighted that the representations in the United States obtained historical results in the first half of 2022, with a total of one million 590 thousand 116 documents processed. The five representations that attended the most procedures in this period were Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New York.

Canada and Europe also posted record highs in June. Canada exceeded its record for issuing total procedures with 3,328, while Europe reported 5,505 procedures.

The attention in the representations of Mexico in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific registers a significant upward trend. The most demanded procedure in these offices is the visa.
