The Ukrainian Consulate in Guayaquil points out that the abolition of visas makes it easier to come to Ecuador.
The Chancellery announced that it began the process of four refugee claims: two Ukrainian citizens, an Egyptian and a Belarusian, who arrived in Ecuador on the humanitarian flights that left Europe as a result of the war in ukraine on March 4, 5 and 13.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requests will continue to be processed as requested and the entity added that Ecuador is open to accept as refugees Ukrainians and other foreigners fleeing the war. Ecuador has also asked Poland to open an embassy.
The Ukrainian consulate in Guayaquil does not yet know the number of Ukrainians seeking refuge in the country, but notes that with the abolition of visas between Ukraine and Ecuador their coming to the country is facilitated.
However, citizens from Ukraine they can enter the country with their passport and stay without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days. After this period, they must regularize their situation if they decide to reside in the country. (SC)
