The Foreign Ministry confirms the release of Chilean missionary Esteban Zambrano, kidnapped in Haiti: he is already with his family

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Tuesday afternoon the release of the Chilean missionary Stephen Zambrano (32), kidnapped a few weeks ago in Haiti. According to the Foreign Ministry, the man is already with his family.

Let us remember that Zambrano and her daughter were attacked by armed individuals in Port-au-Prince on June 8. In that context, he was kidnapped. They asked for $80 million pesos for his release.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejolaindicated that “from the Chilean Foreign Ministry we are very satisfied with the tremendous work of our Embassy in Haiti, in coordination with the Haitian authorities and also the PDI and Carabineros and, of course, we are very satisfied with Esteban Zambrano and his family ” .

From the PDI they indicated that Zambrano was transferred to the Chilean embassy.
