Santo Domingo.- The delegate of The force of the people (FP) before the Central Electoral Board (JCE) today accused David Collado, Minister of Tourism, of using the State’s resources to promote their presidential aspirations for 2028.
In this regard, Manuel Crespo called on the commission to stop what he described as a violation of the electoral law by the official, who detailed was in a political activity at the Caliche Club, in the sector of Christ Rey, National District, whose environment was monitored by vehicles and military and police officers of the Central Directorate of Tourism Police (Politur).
The opponent said not satisfied with that, David Collado was distributing boxes with food that is generally a prerogative of other public entities and not tourism.
He said that this official of the ruling was proselytizing at 10:00 a.m. yesterday, which is a meant must be fulfilling its public obligations.
He believes that the Plenary of the JCE, headed by its president, Román Jáquez, assumes and more proactive role in guaranteeing the principle of equality established in the Constitution and laws.
“The Central Electoral Board must play a more vigilant role, because ultimately Law 20-23 of Electoral Regime gives it that power, which was not previously consigned in that law, that is, to sanction those who violate, not only that law, but also Law 33-18 of political parties,” said Manuel Crespo when talking with the National.
He pointed out that it is inconceivable that a person who aspires to direct national destinations, involves military and police in political activities.
He said that while Politur agents attend Collado political activities, some beaches lack surveillance, which in his opinion is an abuse.

“I believe that the Central Electoral Board must intervene the PRM, because ultimately, the PM candidates are using the budgets of the institutions they direct for their promotion,” said the politician.
