The suggested prices in the rates of agricultural services had an average increase of 6.73%reported to The Observer Edgardo Rostán, president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Agricultural Services (CUSA).
Rostán, after stressing that it is an increase that is on the axis of what has been the inflationary increasementioned that in the case of soybean harvesting, the most widespread crop in the national agricultural area, the new price is 10.41% above the price suggested for this service during the last harvest.
Asked about the reasons for this adjustment, which follows one that occurred last August of 5.80% (the adjustments are made in CUSA assemblies that are held every six months), he indicated five items:
- The exchange rate adjusted upwards 0.5%
- The cost of labor rose 4.40%
- The price of diesel rose 4.42%
- The cost of new machinery adjusted upwards by 10%
- That of utility vehicles rose 8%
All those cost adjustments considered to develop the suggested rates are compared to the August 2021 costs.
The new rates, which can be seen in full in the forms later in this note, are in effect from February 1, 2022 and until a new shareholders’ meeting is issued, in August of this year.
CUSA, indicated Rostán, brings together 210 business partnersof various sizes and located in different areas of the national territory for the provision of their tillage and fertilization, planting, harvesting and other services.
The February members’ assembly was held in a mixed way, in person at the CUSA headquarters that works in the Soriano Rural Association (ARS) in Mercedes and with the participation of members remotely, via the Internet.
