The fishing industry will enter around US$ 310 million in the next 45 days, within the framework of the commitment assumed with the national government to speed up the process of liquidation of foreign exchange for exports, according to sources in the sector.

Next week, representatives of the fish chain will be received by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan José Bahillo, to discuss the current situation in the sector and discuss different alternatives related to export and production, confirmed the sources consulted.

In this sense, the same spokesmen reaffirmed that the meeting will seek to articulate the commitment to accelerate the process of liquidation of foreign currency resulting from fishery exports, which are around US$ 310 million for the next 45 days, according to estimates made by the sector. .

The sources also specified that, in return, they hope to be able to get the Government to consider incorporating fishing into the regime established by the BCRA for agricultural exporters, which allows them to settle a portion of the foreign currency at the solidarity dollar exchange rate.
