Gaspar Hernandez. – President Luis Abinader led the graduation ceremony this Sunday 1,016 new agents who completed the Basic Training Course Police Training andn the Gaspar Hernández Police Training School.
After taking the oath to the new police officers, the Head of State reiterated his commitment to continue promoting police reform which began in his first term of Government.
To the graduating students, who belong to classes 141 “Juan Pablo Duarte” and 142 “Matías Ramón Mella”, the dignitary reminded them that they have a great responsibility because the gaze of society and the future of the reform is on their shoulders now that They go to the streets to assume their responsibilities.
“Never before has a promotion had such a strong weight and such special expectations as you have and that is why I ask that you assume this historic responsibility in response to what your fellow citizens and the Dominican nation ask and demand,” he said.

He expressed pride in this first graduation of the reform composed of 769 agents who go on preventive patrol and the remaining 247 (186 women and 61 men) to the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett).
The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, and the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, participated in the activity; the general director of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta and of the Digesett, General Francisco Osoria de la Cruz.
Also the senator for Espaillat, Carlos Manuel Gómez; the executive commissioner for Police Reform, Luis Ernesto Hernández; the president of the Education Reform Commission, Mu Kien Sang Ben; the president of the Executive Commission for Police Reform, Elena Viyella; the rector of the Police Institute of Higher Education, Colonel Cecilio Agramonte; the director of the Police Training School, Colonel Gerald Pilarte Brea and the deputy director of the Gaspar Hernández Police Training School, Lieutenant Colonel Dioris S. Sánchez.
