The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, led the graduation of promotions 141 and 142 of the National Police, who, after a year of intense training in areas of investigation and crime prevention, become the first officers to graduate from the police reform.
These 1,016 new agents represent a significant step in the institution’s transformation process, said the main speakers at the event.
In his speech, Abinader emphasized the importance of education in the changes being made in the Police.
“We are graduating the first police officers of the reform, with training that has doubled the previous time and a renewed curriculum. These agents now have a special responsibility to Dominican society”president
He pointed out that the graduates symbolize the beginning of a new type of agents, committed to respect for human rights and the firm fight against crime.
For his part, Colonel Yeral Pilarte Brea, director of the Training School, highlighted the effort of the graduates.

Recognitions of Excellence
During the ceremony, awards were presented to meritorious graduates.
In promotion 141, the merit for knowledge was awarded to Angie Paola Jáquez; while Evans Simeón Celestino received recognition for the discipline he always maintained at school. Both awards were presented by Major General Guzmán Peralta.
Yesica Céspedes Cordero was recognized for the police spiritfrom the hands of Minister Andrés Bautista García.
In promotion 142, Shaida Martínez Páez was meritorious for the concept of duty, a recognition granted by Mukien Adriana Sang Beng; José Antonio Brito Berroa was outstanding in discipline; and Julio César Rodríguez Encarnación received the merit for knowledge.
