The Panamanian Football League officially announces that Juan Diaz’s colossus, the Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez stadium, located in the Irving Saladino Sports City, will be the venue where the Final of the 2024 Apertura Tournament will be played.
The Rommel Fernández will open its doors again to the public and Panamanian soccer, after having been closed in 2023 to undergo a process of deep renovations.
The last final of the Panamanian Soccer League that was played at the Rommel Fernández stadium was in May 2023, CAI faced Tauro and the Vikings emerged victorious in that final of the Apertura Tournament.
The 2024 Apertura Tournament has reached its crucial phase and there are four teams battling in the semifinals, seeking the long-awaited place in the final. Tauro FC, San Francisco FC, CD Plaza Amador and Potros del Este are the teams that aspire to play in the final at the remodeled Rommel Fernández.
Pandeportes confirmed to the LPF that the Rommel Fernández stadium is ready to host its first official match after the renovations that the coliseum underwent and it will be with the Final of the 2024 Apertura Tournament.
In this way, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 7:15 pm we will return to the home of Panamanian soccer, the Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez stadium.
