The ‘tabby’ beat Atlético Palmaflor and the ‘light blue’ beat Blooming
Both teams had prevailed in the first leg and won again in the second leg
The Strongest and Bolivartraditional rivals of Bolivian footballwill be measured for the title of the local Apertura tournament after winning the second leg of the semifinals at Atletico Palmaflor and to Bloomingrespectively.
‘Atigrados’ and ‘celeste’ had won in the first leg matches played over the weekend and consolidated their advance to the final on this day. Bolívar, led by the Brazilian Carlos Zago, won 4-0 to the Blooming of the Chilean Rodrigo Venegas at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz. José Sagredo opened the scoring in favor of the locals in the second minute of addition of the first half and the Brazilian Bruno Sávio extended the account in the 57th minute. Then came a double by Bruno Miranda in the 68th and 78th minutes, the latter scoring a penalty . Zago’s men had the 2-3 advantage achieved at Blooming’s in the first leg and will now face their traditional rival in the final scheduled for this Sunday.
Earlier, the ‘tigers’ sealed their pass to the beat away from home 1-2 Atlético Palmaflor in a match played at the Félix Capriles stadium in Cochabamba. The Argentine Enrique Triverio put Tigre La Paz ahead in the 53rd minute and the Brazilian Igor Soares leveled the score with a penalty in the 60th minute. The result was defined in the 81st minute with another penalty, this time favorable to The Strongest and who was converted by the Uruguayan Rodrigo Amaral. Those led by the Argentine Cristian Díaz had achieved a similar result in the first leg played last Saturday in La Paz.
The “tabby” squad is the only Bolivian survivor in international tournaments, having finished third in group B of the Libertadores and thus moving on to the South American, in which it will face the Brazilian Ceará.
