The Federal March of the Piquetera Unit will arrive this Thursday in CABA

With a wide range of sectoral demands, the Federal March of the Piquetero Unit will arrive this Thursday in the Federal Capital, demanding an increase in quotas and amounts of social plans, as well as for “work for all” and “against hungry”.

The protest has the support of left-wing parties such as the Polo Obrero (PO), Barrios de Pie, the MST-Teresa Rodríguez and fractions of the Front of Organizations in Struggle (FOL) and the Darío Santillán Popular Front (FPDS), among others. .

The referents of the social and political organizations that make up the national table of the Piquetera Unit arrived this Tuesday in San Salvador de Jujuy, from La Quiaca, as part of the so-called Federal March “For work and for wages against hunger and poverty” , a mobilization that will last until Thursday.

The caravan, which began in the Plaza Centenario de La Quiaca, on the border with Bolivia, later continued to Salta and Tucumán.

In the capital of Jujuy, an act was held at the corner of 19 de Abril and Gorriti, in front of the Provincial Legislature, where leaders of the sector highlighted that “there is a massive participation throughout the country”, which they described as “historic” .

“This great federal march is the beginning, we are going to travel thousands of kilometers to get to Buenos Aires. If there is no response, there will be mobilization and the piquetero will camp,” said the leader of the Polo Obrero Eduardo Belliboni upon his arrival in the capital of Jujuy.

Accompanied by other leaders of the national table of the Piquetera Unit, the Trotskyist referent maintained that “the federal march is the future of this people, it is the fight for work, health and education; the other is the adjustment of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). ),” he warned.

The caravan, which left from La Quiaca, is also made up of militants from the Socialist Workers Movement (MST), CUBa MTR and Barrios de Pie-Libres del Sur, among others.

“We believe in something that seems very important to us: if poverty crosses the country, the Piquetera Unit crosses the country against poverty,” said Mónica Sulle, national coordinator of the MST Teresa Vive, adding: “Our fight is tireless. because we want genuine work, better salaries and all the demands we deserve”.

For his part, Jujuy leader Juan Chorolque, a leader of the MTR 12 de Abril movement, stated that “today, with this national mobilization, we are fighting for ‘enough’ of hunger and poverty and for a decent wage that exceeds the value of the basic family basket”.

The organizers had detailed that there are five caravans that left from different regions of the country, including the northwest (NOA), whose participants will make posts in other provinces to carry out different acts.

The arrival of the columns to the City of Buenos Aires to converge in Plaza de Mayo will take place at noon from Constitución, Once and Retiro, spokesmen for the protest told Télam.
