The federal government reports 533 ecological restoration projects so far this year

In environmental matters and sustainable development, the report of President Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted the protection and restoration of the country’s biodiversity, in addition to the conservation and treatment of water.
Through the program for the protection and restoration of ecosystems and priority species, 533 ecological restoration projects with an investment of 100 million 250 thousand pesos were undertaken from June to June 2025.
The projects incorporated terrestrial and aquatic habitat restoration actions, waste management, comprehensive fire management for ecosystem conservation, reforestation, protection of reef, islands and estuar 6 thousand 248 people.
During the same time, this program also applied 277 community projects in 101 natural marine coastal protected areas, 98 with federal decree and three in areas voluntarily intended for conservation, with an investment of 66.3 million pesos. The actions carried out covered ecological restoration, species conservation, surveillance and community monitoring on an area of 783 thousand 895 hectares.
Between October and December 2024, the rights return program allocated a total of 4,792.7 million pesos, whose investment was destined to carry out actions in infrastructure and improvement of efficiency in drinking water and sanitation, with the participation of 419 service providers.

Likewise, 12 wastewater treatment plants were built, a plant was extended and improvements were made in seven, between October and December 2024.
From January to June 2025, an investment of 14 thousand 299 million pesos was channeled for the benefit of 426 thousand 979 people for the Sowing Life program.
