Buenos Aires legislators from the Frente de Todos (FdT), together with teachers’ unions, will present this Wednesday a bill that establishes a “progressive increase in investment in education within the budget of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires” for the next ten years , reported that block in a statement.
The goal of the project is to allocate at least 30 percent of the district’s annual budget to education.
“The systematic reduction of the educational budget such as the one carried out by the macrismo tends to deepen the inequalities on which it is necessary to intervene with public policies,” said the Buenos Aires legislator of the FdT María Bielli, project author.
In this sense, he added that “education has to be a priority, not in speeches, but in government actions that should be reflected in its budget.”
The presentation will be at 12 at the doors of the Legislature, located at Peru 160.
“The meeting seeks to make visible different claims of the educational community regarding lack of vacancies, building problems, scholarship cuts, among others,” they added in the statement.
Later, at 1:00 p.m., the Education, Science and Technology Commission of the Legislature will be formed, which, like the other commissions, resumes attendance this year.
The return to face-to-face activity will allow the educational community to participate in the commission again and present their claims.
The educational financing bill had already been presented by Lorena Pokoik, who until last year was a Buenos Aires legislator (FdT) and vice president of the Education Commission.
