The Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD) reported yesterday that it will create an inter-institutional commission to investigate the statements of the pilot colonel Santiago Almonte Batistawho denounced that the aeronautical workshop of that military compound was being used for drug trafficking.
A communication from the military entity indicates that the people who will make up the delegation will have the objective of evaluating the veracity of the officer’s complaint, deepening it and issuing a report to the Ministry of Defenceby the corresponding route.
According to the document, it indicates that Almonte Batista is an aviator officer with 33 years of service in the institution and that in his more than three decades of service he has managed to perform satisfactory wayas a tactician.

The officer’s complaint
Pilot Colonel Almonte Batista denounced that the aeronautical workshop of the Dominican Air Force is used to “drug traffic” inside the military institution.
“We are convinced that this workshop works as drug trafficking within the Air Force itself and I want them to disprove me, because what is meant is that I am not in mental capacity,” said the officer at a graduation which he attended.
He assured that this situation occurs and called the president Louis Abinader to take action on the matter.
