The Fanb intervened four drug farms in El Catatumbo

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces carried out a large-scale operation north of the Catatumbo River, Jesús María Semprún municipality (Casigua-El Cubo), Zulia’s border with Colombia, where they destroyed four logistics centers used by drug trafficking groups.

The infrastructures were located in three properties: El Amparo, Los Mangos and Las Laras. The latter had a landing strip, according to the report presented by General in Chief Domingo Hernández Lárez, who is in charge of the Fanb’s Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb).

The fourth logistics center for drug trafficking consisted of a clandestine shipyard used to repair and build vessels intended for the transportation of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

In the raid, the military detained four individuals linked to drug trafficking. In addition, they seized 10 shotguns of different calibers, a magazine and 13 cartridges. The operation was carried out on land in the binational peace zone decreed by President Nicolás Maduro to confront the military threat from the United States.

In this sense, the military seized a GPS, four radio transmitters and a compass. They also seized instruments used in the construction of the clandestine runways: an excavator and three tractors, as well as three boats with four engines and 2,000 liters of gasoline. “Venezuela is a land of peace, law and justice!” stressed Hernández Lárez.
