The sector Big House of the Broad Frontintegrated, among others, by the director of International Relations of the Municipality of Montevideo (IM), Fabiana Goyeneche, the mayoress of Municipality B, Silvana Pissano and former senator Constanza Moreira, announced that its national assembly decided to support the Mayor Carolina Cosse’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic.
“The time has come for Uruguay to have a female president. That is also part of the commitment to equality that the left represents,” the sector wrote in the statement under the title “Now we.” However, they continued: “it is not enough to be a woman; the commitment to the fight against gender inequality must accompany this proposal.”

In this sense, at the end of March the general secretary of the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU) Juan Castillo said that the mayor of Montevideo Carolina Cosse is a “good candidate” for the inmates of the Broad Front of 2024.
Castillo was interviewed on the program Who is who on Channel 5 and answered the question of whether Cosse would be a good candidate to run for the Presidency. The communist leader replied that he gave “the impression” that he did. “There is a set of elements that they make her a good candidate“, he expressed.
The general secretary of the PCU showed his agreement with the management in the mayor of Montevideo. “We discussed well with Cosse, we have a word commitmentwe work well in the departmental management of Montevideo.
