The Vega. The Chamber of Commerce and Production of La Vega inaugurated the twenty-eighth version of its Expo Vega Real 2024 fair amidst demands for works.
The multi-sector fair, whose motto is “Boosting your company to the next level”, will take place from August 1 to 4 and will host 200 private and government companies from all over the country.
Odil Morilla, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of La Vega, used his speech to demand greater investment, appropriate to the province’s contributions to the Gross Domestic Product.
He also expressed concern about the loss of two important access routes, the Antonio Guzmán Fernández street bridge and the walkway that internally connects Jarabacoa with La Vega, and in his opinion it is not possible for road works, which have a decisive impact on the commercial and productive life of the city, to be forgotten.
Morilla expressed the need to unite the authorities to achieve the objectives of the National Development Strategy (END) and the Meta RD 2036 initiative, which seek, in joint proposals, to eliminate poverty in twelve years and double the Gross Domestic Product.
He said that La Vega as a province is prepared to make its contributions and sacrifices, because as a city it has fulfilled its duty to the country.
Expo Vega 2024 was dedicated to Samuel Pereyra, executive president of Banco de Reservas, represented by Ysidro García, senior executive vice president of Business.
For his part, businessman Hugo Concepción, president of the fair, stressed that during these four days of the fair they will offer an attractive range of cultural activities and product sales.
“Expo Vega 2024 opens its doors in an inclusive, free setting, with a programmatic proposal in which everyone has a place, not only for sales, purchases of products and services, the natural reason for the fair, but with a varied offer of cultural, business, entrepreneurial activities, for lovers of cooking, beauty, wellness, music, as well as business panels, conferences, children’s shows and our food and beverage areas,” explained Concepción.
