This Thursday, the Political Judgment Commission of the Chamber of Deputies will hold the fifth session in the investigation process that is being carried out against the four members of the Supreme Court: Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
In accordance with the provisions of the Commission, today the first testimonies of judges and judicial officials will be presented, in what constitutes the second stage of the process that is being carried out against the highest court. It should be remembered that the trial against the Supreme Court It was promoted by President Alberto Fernández.
For this Thursday’s session, magistrates Alejo Ramos Padilla (federal judge of La Plata) and Sebastián Ramos (federal judge of the City of Buenos Aires) were summoned.. The hearing is part of the process of gathering evidence against the judges of the Supreme Court.
The statements of the magistrates will be key, since they intervened in complaints that arose after the leak of chats between Silvio Robles, Rossatti’s right-hand man, and the Buenos Aires Minister of Security, Marcelo D’Alessandro.
Also summoned for the hearing were officials Adriana Valinotti, Mario Cimadevilla, Cristian Abritta, Sergio Rubén Romero, Silenio Rómulo Cárdenas Ponce Ruiz, who have not yet been confirmed if they will attend Congress, as is the case of Ramos Padilla and bouquets.
In this regard, the president of the Commission, Carolina Gaillard, assured that “all witnesses have the obligation to appear to testify” and pointed out that “The witness who does not attend will suffer the opening of a criminal complaint and can be taken by the public force”.
It is estimated that the process of collecting evidence against the highest court lasts between three and four months, this if one or two hearings are held per week, as Gaillard explained.
Who will be called up next week?
Next week the Commission will summon several secretaries of the highest court, including Sebastián Garay, Gustavo Naveira de Casanova, Marcelo Navarro, Damián Font and Sergio Nápoli.
It is also expected to convene the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” De Pedro, the Treasury Attorney, Carlos Zannini; the Attorney General of CABA, Gabriel Astarloa; and the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor Ignacio Mahiques.
