Di Tullio assured that the money from tax evasion will allow “raising around 1,000 million dollars.”

The National Senator for the Front of All (FdT), Juliana Di Tullioassured that with the project presented by his block in the Upper House to create a national fund with the money from tax evasion, it will allow “raising around $70,000 million dollars” to contribute to paying off the debt that Argentina has with the Monetary Fund International (IMF).

“The project modifies who can lift the secrecy of the stock market, in this way we can verify who are those who took out foreign currency without declaring it and we give them a period of six months so that they can launder the evasion and pay the taxes that they must pay to the country”, Di Tullio explained in statements to Radio 10.

The project was presented in the Chamber of Senatorswith the support of the Government and includes a request for collaboration from the United States by Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. The initiative contemplates expanding the powers of the Central Bank and would allow prosecutors the possibility of requesting that banking secrecy be lifted in order to determine who leaked currency during the government of Mauricio Macri.

Along these lines, the senator explained that this will allow them to “detect who were the ones who made this first outflow of foreign currency” and in this way “a judicial search” can be carried out.

“Those who evaded are criminals, they are given a period of six months so that they can launder the evasion and pay the taxes that they escaped”said the senator.

Di Tullio also remarked that the second part of the project is “the creation of the fund to pay the IMF” with “20% of capital that is not taxed in Argentina.”

Lastly, the official reiterated that those who leaked currency “are criminals” and therefore she would not understand how one could vote against the project.

“I wonder what governor or governor is not going to want to have this type of contribution,” he concluded.
