The Eva Perón Home will be valued for the care of the elderly

The Eva Perón Home, which was built within the framework of the Declaration of the Rights of the Elderly proclaimed by Eva Perón on August 28, 1948 and inaugurated in October of the same year.

The Ministry of Public Works of the Nation will carry out the “enhancement” of the Eva Perón Home, a long-stay residence for the comprehensive care of the elderly, located in the Buenos Aires town of Burzaco, and whose objective is to “guarantee rights and equalize opportunities,” assured the general coordinator of the Care Infrastructure Plan, Mercedes Contreras.

“It is a work that has a historical value and covers two lines, one that has to do with the conservation of heritage and the other with the space itself of care for the elderly,” said Contreras in dialogue with Télam Radio.

The initiative will be carried out based on an agreement with the National Directorate of Policies for the Elderly (DINAPAM) under the Ministry of Social Development, and consists of the completion of the intensive care block, the comprehensive improvement of existing facilities and other complementary works. that will allow the full functioning of the institution.

Evita spoke of the rights of the elderly when it was not even a debate installed worldwidewith which it seems to me that he has a very special value for his figure, for his future vision of what should be done in terms of social policies with the elderly”, highlighted Contreras.

In this sense, he added that “care infrastructure is a cornerstone of our management, with works that guarantee rights and equalize opportunities throughout Argentina.”

The Hogar Eva Perón, which was built within the framework of the Declaration of the Rights of the Elderly proclaimed by Eva Perón on August 28, 1948 and inaugurated in October of the same year, has capacity to provide comprehensive care to 72 elderly people who do not have social work or resources to access a long-term residence.

The enhancement of the establishment will also favor participation in cultural and recreational activities, both for the people housed in this space and for the community of Burzaco, in the Municipality of Almirante Brown.

The work it will have an investment of $1,218 million, will have 6,550 m2 of intervention, and will include the completion of the intensive care pavilion and the adaptation of the bedroom blocks to incorporate individual bathrooms in replacement of the current common core, which will be transformed into a living room, it was officially reported.

Likewise, Contreras stressed that “this intervention is part of the Care Infrastructure Plan, carried out by the Ministry of Public Works throughout the country, through which works are planned and executed to expand coverage and strengthen existing services in the areas of childhood care, gender, health, youth and the elderly”.

“The works contemplate the construction of new centers and the refurbishment and/or refunctionalization of care spaces that are already in operation in the 23 provinces and CABA,” he concluded.
