The employer lockout in more than 100 bus lines of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) continued this Wednesday, for the thirteenth consecutive day, a measure marked by the interruption of services between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day, and the reduction of daytime frequencies, and that is maintained despite the sanctions ordered by the National Commission for Transport Regulation and the transfer of subsidies.

The measure initiated on August 19 is headed by the Business Chamber of Passenger Transport (CEAP), the Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires (Cetuba) and the Chamber of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires (Ctpba), which they argue delays in the payment of subsidies despite the transfers made from the Nation to remedy these situations.

Because of the measure, which has been ongoing for almost two weeks, the groups of the affected lines do not circulate between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.while in the rest of the day they do it with reduced frequencies, similar to those of Saturdays, approximately 30% less than on a normal day.

For its part, the National Commission for the Regulation of Automotive Transport (CNRT) reported that it has drawn up more than 106 infraction acts for $ 18 million to the bus companies that maintain the lockout.

Nevertheless, since the administration of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta there has been no contact with the transport companies to unblock the conflict.

In addition, the agency denounced that the bus system in the AMBA is oversized since the data from the SUBE system indicate that there are still 800,000 fewer passengers than in 2019, while maintaining the same amount of fleet as in that year.

The lockout affects services on lines 2, 4, 15, 29, 33, 37, 39, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 59, 61, 62, 64, 70, 80, 86. 88, 93, 95, 96, 97, 102, 105, 114, 118, 123, 124, 126, 129, 154, 160, 166, 179, 180, 181, 185 and 193.
