The Catamarca empanada was chosen as the best in the country in a national contest in which representatives from all the provinces and the city of Buenos Aires participated during a food and music festival made in downtown Buenos Aires.
The third empanada party brought together hundreds of people with outdoor tables, a hydration area, balloons, cotton candy, musical shows and inflatable games for children along Diagonal Norte, between Carlos Pellegrini and Florida , organized by Buenos Aires (BA) Gastronomic Capital.
With federal representation, chefs from the 23 provinces and the City competed for the best empanada in the country, consecrating the Catamarcan empanada as the winner.

The empanada from Tucumán followed on the podium and the third place went to the representative from Jujuy.
The contest had in its jury chef Narda Lepes, gastronomic critic Pietro Sorba, businessman José Luis Padilla, from the Association of Pizzerias and Empanadas Houses, and cooks María del Carmen “Chacha” Vicario, champion of the 2019 edition , and Asunción del Valle Arguello, champion of the 2020 digital edition.
The musical proposals had as protagonists the band Los Tabaleros, the flutist Laura Molinas, the percussion group Banda Cafundó and the rapper Under MC, while the closing was in charge of the singer-songwriter Jorge Rojas.
