The electoral institute will attend all legal avenues
to stop the reform in the matter

The National Electoral Institute (INE) will go to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), and all legal means
to combat the electoral reform, warning that the changes destroy the structure of the organization and affect 84.6 percent of the 2,571 positions that make up the professional career service at the INE.
The counselors affirmed that the changes to the secondary laws put the 2024 elections at risk, for which they called on legislators to analyze the impacts and, at an early hour, asked the senators amend the plan
to the deputies and clear this reform of unconstitutionality vices

The president counselor, Lorenzo Córdova, maintained that the INE He is not confronted with anyone, he only applies the law
although just yesterday, in an urgent extraordinary session, guidelines were approved to limit the political activities of public officials.
Before the press, with different nuances, the directors spoke of defending before the SCJN the position of Edmundo Jacobo Molina, Executive Secretary of the INE, who will be dismissed due to the elimination of the executive general meeting.
They also defended the permanent structure of the 300 electoral districts (five management positions in each one), emphasizing that they arrive at their place by competition and are permanently trained.
The reform leaves a permanent operative position in each district and fills the seats in the electoral period, while in the state (local) boards the senior managers are reduced from five to three in each one.
Jacobo Molina pointed out in this regard: That’s where these numbers come from (affecting 84 percent of the workforce), they leave only 396 positions out of the 2,571 jobs

At the same time, members of the INE general council offered to accompany the dismissed workers.

They warned of deficiencies that jeopardize the operation of the elections, in addition to the undesirable effects of compacting calendars, for example, to select polling station officials, and the organic and procedural consequences.
Before, they cited impacts on the work in the territory, in the preparation of the electoral roll, the installation of polling stations and the performance of vote counts, as well as the attention in the modules in which the voting credential is processed. They consider that the reform disrupts the monitoring of radio and television, the oversight of the activities of political parties and electoral campaigns, and the fight against political violence.
Eliminating the permanent sub-delegational structure of the INE and minimizing the professional electoral service would prevent having qualified personnel as ordered by the Constitution, since the reform contemplates eliminating 84.6 percent of the positions that today make up said career civil service.
