The event, which will take place at the organization’s headquarters, represents a formal step in the electoral process. As explained by Wilfredo Penco, president of the Electoral Court, in dialogue with the Teledía program on Channel 4, there will be “the delivery by the Court in full of the testimony of the minutes proclaiming the elected president and vice president of the Republic.”
Penco highlighted that this event is “an important culmination from the point of view of the scrutiny” and added that it constitutes the “last post-electoral act, even though the Court will continue working.”
Among the tasks that continue for the Court, the leader mentioned the receipt of accounts related to electoral campaign expenses and reports from parties and the media on the use of electoral advertising. “The latter will give rise to a report with audits, for which we have support from the Court of Auditors, which is the first time it has been carried out,” Penco explained.
Likewise, the Electoral Court is working on the organization of the departmental and municipal elections, scheduled for the second Sunday of May next year. This process is already underway as part of planning for the next electoral cycle.
