As a result of the truckers’ strike that took place in the country, students from several schools in Bogotá stopped attending classes. However, in the afternoon of September 5,And, the Bogotá Education Secretariat reported that all educational services would resume classes today.

From the public sector, the Secretariat highlighted that Through the rectors, a detailed review of the conditions in each institution will be carried out and to support any eventuality, the team at the central and local level of the entity will be available to provide support in these situations.
“In this regard, families are called upon to send students to educational institutions for the return to their school activities.“, the Secretariat mentioned.

Likewise, they highlighted that in the case of private schools it is recommended that, depending on the particularities of each institution, its operation is evaluated in order to prioritize face-to-face work with students.
“In case of any doubt or query, the Secretariat will be in constant communication with the competent authorities to coordinate the necessary actions to guarantee the protection of the educational community.“, they say.

It is worth mentioning that during the time of the truckers’ strike, In Bogotá, food assistance was guaranteed for girls, boys and young people in district educational institutions.

According to the first assessment and despite the blockades and mobility problems recorded in different parts of the city, The PAE effectively reached 362 of the 740 district school sites, bringing more than 282,000 snacks and/or hot food rations which were given to students from different events who came to educational institutions.
“This delivery was carried out in a coordinated manner with teams from the PAE operator, welfare managers, principals and teachers, who joined in the purpose of guaranteeing this right to girls, boys and young people, for many of whom, the PAE becomes their main meal every day.“, the Secretariat mentioned.
