On Friday, the Electricity Distribution Companies received bidders for the purchase of 800MW of energy.
The EDEs said that they received the credentials of eight bidders for an international public tender through long-term contracting, for the purchase and sale of 800MW of power and energy. The Distribution Companies continue to work in favor of meeting the energy needs of Dominicans, leaving in the past the philosophy of solving electricity problems when these already mean a crisis for citizens.
This process was developed under the criteria of transparency and plurality that characterize the Government of Luis Abinader. The Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, said he was satisfied with the behavior of this competitive process where more and more companies bet and trust in public-private partnerships.
