In the last few hours, the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) released the fifth Circular Economy report for 2022. These seek offer information from 16 indicators categorized into 3 of the 4 components that facilitate the understanding and analysis of the circular economic model, and its relationship and impact with the environment and natural resources.

The report reveals the proportion of renewable energy consumed by economic activity and there it is shown that the production and processing of sugar and panela was 97.10%this being the activity that consumes the most renewable energy products.
This is followed by coking and product manufacturing of refining with a percentage lower than 5%.
Now, the report also shows that during the third quarter of 2021, the
34.3% of the buildings that completed their construction, had a water saving system, for the fourth quarter of 2021, this percentage was 50.1%.
The Dane explains that this means an increase in the installation of water saving accessories. The same thing happened with energy saving systems, in which natural ventilation predominates.
During the third quarter of 2021, 42.4% of buildings that culminated the
construction process had some energy saving system. In the room
quarter, were 59.3%.
However, in 2020 the proportion of renewable inputs increased within the total energy inputs that it was 10.3% while in 2019 it reached 8.5%. This behavior is due to a lower generation of energy from fossil sources.
Likewise, the report shows that the intermediate consumption of energy products used by the different economic activities in the country added 1.63 million terajoules (tj).
The energy activities with the highest energy intensity were the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning; and manufacturing industries.

Finally, the Dane states that in 2020 the energy consumption per 1,000 inhabitants it was 41.30 terajoules. This implies 8m5 terajoules less than in 2019.
